One of the founding principles of the urban village of Poundbury is that the social housing is freely intermixed with the private houses and that the two are indistinguishable. As co-ordinating architects for the first 60 houses in Phase 1A we were also responsible for the design of the 34 social units for The Guinness Trust. Following our design of a further 20 affordable units for Westbury Homes in Phase 2E we were commissioned to prepare the panel on the left to commemorate the 100th Guinness Trust unit at Poundbury which was presented to The Prince of Wales.
