This project was for an extension to a small Ministry of Defence hospital on the rock. It provided a number of clinical facilities including clinics, maternity ward, families' ward and operating theatre suite. Its site was spectacular and our design exploited the location with open arcades and balconies facing onto the waterfront, while reflecting the Spanish character of the local vernacular using rendered walls, dark green wooden shutters and a low pitched and spreading clay-tiled roof.
