A small development of 14 studio apartments on Dove Street in Kingsdown, Bristol, continuing the practice of developing the rear lower part of the garden of the listed Georgian houses in Somerset Street. The building sits into the hill retaining the garden behind. The design fits well within the context with a deep rubble stone plinth corresponding to the existing stone, white render above, and a mansard roof in clay pantiles with flat roof dormers. This development maximises the potential of a site in a highly sustainable location close to the centre of the city, yet respects the form and scale of development in this part of Kingsdown.
