An outline scheme for student housing in the Danes Castle area of Exeter. The site is in an elevated position with views out over the city. The student accommodation is on three floors and arranged around lush planted courtyards. The level differences on the site are taken up with half level staircase entrances, such that the ground floor rooms are raised up half a floor above ground level which also provides enhanced security. The accommodation is arranged in flats of 4 to 6 rooms, each with a shared kitchen/dining room. The student rooms have en-suite accommodation in the form of pre-fabricated bathroom pods.
